The way back … There are many complicated questions and scenarios related to the reopening of spectator sports. When will fans be allowed to return? Will fans want to return? And, when spectators return to stadiums and arenas, what will it look like?

WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon prides himself on leading the way, as he did in the spring by continuing to produce weekly shows when every other sports entity went on hiatus. One possibility is that WWE’s touring could be reduced to one-third capacity, with the Raw, Smackdown, and NXT brands taking on various phases of the road schedule. For example, if there were a COVID-19 outbreak on the Raw roster, then the Smackdown wrestlers could keep the tour going, eventually handing it over to NXT.

AEW, after splitting its roster in two at the beginning, now has wrestlers assigned to testing blocks before every event. Interaction among individuals is limited to those in that particular block to prevent cross-contamination.
