Packard built its last trucks in 1923. Nevertheless, some Packard dealers later built pickup trucks from stately Packard sedans that had been rear-ended so that their service and parts departments could employ trucks also representing the brand. During the ’50s, some dealers would compete each year for the honor of having fabricated the best-looking pickup from a wrecked Packard.
