As a key part of their training, working gundogs in and over water has a lot going for it, but it isn’t without its challenges. With the unprecedented amount of rainfall we had last year, most of us found ourselves working the dogs in a new form of terrain. Whether it was beating in wet ditches, bog-filled drives or sending the dog across a fast-flowing tributary, working our dogs in an exceptionally wet winter certainly came into its own last season.
