Wacky Races

SUCH IS THE LEVEL OF FLUX in this wacky world at present, by the time you read this, my words will either be resounding or redundant.

The 2019 WorldTour began on 15 January with the Tour Down Under and ended 22 October with the final stage of the Tour of Guangxi. Thirty-eight events spread across nine months.

In the same month as Guangxi, the UCI, cycling’s governing body, officially presented the 2020 WorldTour calendar. Unsurprisingly, it wasn’t all that dissimilar, though two events, the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey (downgraded due to lack of participation from WorldTour teams in 2018 and 2019) and the Tour of California (placed on hiatus), did not find their way back, making for a thirty-six race series.
