From sofa to sailboat

Two friends from Colchester are preparing for a challenge most sailors would baulk at – sailing a Leisure 17 across the Atlantic.

John-Kenneth Habbershaw and Courtney Hollyoake plan to leave in December 2021, sailing from the Canary Islands to Antigua in 30-35 days. The project was inspired by John Adam, who in 1967 sailed singlehanded across the Atlantic in the Leisure 17, Eve.
