The good thing about being young is having the ability to know everything, and afford anything. Well, at least that’s the feeling at the time. Southland’s Jason Harpur knows that feeling well, having purchased his first Falcon at age 16. You can only imagine the fun he and his mates had in the 289-powered machine; gas was cheap, responsibilities were zero, and fun was the main item on the agenda. Being an apprentice metal worker at the time, Jason recalls, “I knew what I was doing with some panels while I was learning the trade, so there was lots of stainless steel panel work under the bonnet, a stainless steel drop tank, and lots of door and guard work.”
