Balmy in Bathurst

I’m just going crazy here in Bathurst; stuck at home (over Easter) when in other years we would all be riding in the Bathurst Rally. So I went to the rally ‘start line’ at 10am on Easter Sunday morning to take a photo. Maybe you can compare it to other years to show the effects of COVID 19.

I enjoyed Bob Rosenthal’s story (OBA 85) on being reunited with his TZ750 very much. It reminded me of a TZ750 that was on the road in Sydney in the late ‘seventies (‘The Yazaki’). I wonder where it is now?

I remember seeing the ‘Yasaki’ at Motocross, Blacktown, the Honda shop run by Col Evans and Roy East. I didn’t take much notice of it then, but I guess it was one of the orphan TZ700 chassis that had been robbed of its engine to power a sidecar. The H2 Kawasaki engine would have been a more practical unit, especially as it had a kick starter! – Ed
