About to start his 11th season in charge at Punt Road, and later this season will surpass the legendary Tom Hafey’s record 248 games in charge of the Tigers. Hardwick has found the perfect balance of mentor and master, and could feasibly match Hafey’s four flags as coach before his tenure finishes.

This time three years ago, Richmond was the essence of mediocrity, flagless for 37 years. Hasn’t the landscape changed? Two premierships and a preliminary final appearance ensued, the club clearly the best over that period. Can they keep it up? No reason why not.
