This year Ceres is in Pisces from April 23 to September 27, and again from November 9 to February 21, 2021. Is that something important to know? Yes it is, because Ceres and her astrological influence on your life is of vital importance, and it just so happens that she gets along especially well with the sign of Pisces. Ceres is not exactly a planet in the same sense as the standard planets (Mercury through Pluto) used by most astrologers, and you may hear people refer to it as either an asteroid or a minor planet or a dwarf planet (that last has been its official term among astronomers since 2006), but no matter, as in astrological terms Ceres is what it is, which is what this article is all about.
Ceres has a fascinating history, as it was the first object to be discovered in the asteroid belt that exists between Earth and Mars. When he noticed it on January 1, 1801, astronomer Giuseppe Piazzi, at the Palermo Observatory in Italy, at first thought it was a fixed star, but as he checked it night after night he realized that it was moving. He then announced his discovery as a comet, though he suspected it was something else.
