A SHROPSHIRE LAP

On being told that our mighty travel editor needed more day ride features it was my duty to obey, so on the first sunny day after this news I was off. Instead of my usual blasts into North Wales or the Derbyshire Peaks I decided to head into Shropshire for a change. I still managed to cover three counties by starting and finishing in Staffordshire with a bit of Cheshire near the end.

My starting point was the A519 at Newcastle under Lyme
