Like many others, I’m sure, I used the lockdown period for a clean-out. And like all clean-outs I’ve ever done, it was a frustrating experience. Let’s talk jars, jars! But restrain myself I did. And Mum and I laughed like drains. We hadn’t realised we shared the same affliction. I wondered. Then, last week, I was putting out the recycling bin when I spotted an old box full of sparkling clean jars. My neighbour saw me inspecting them, then looked at me sheepishly. ‘I just wanted to see if anyone wanted them,’ she said. ‘I can’t bear to throw them out.’ Nope, definitely not alone!
