‘I wanted to raise the bar for kids’ food’
In 2016, Cat Gazzoli, 42, launched baby food company, Piccolo. Four years on, it’s stocked in every major UK supermarket. Cat lives in London with her husband Massimo, daughter Juliet, six, and baby Scarlet Rose.
THE IDEA
I’d spent my career working in non-profits, including the UN food agency and as CEO of Slow Food UK. My focus was on promoting fair and sustainable food, and campaigning for the right of access to healthy, nutritious produce.
When my daughter Juliet was born in 2013, I saw a gap in the market for balanced, healthy baby meals using organic, ethically sourced ingredients. I believed I could raise the bar, while also making a difference. Ten per cent of our profits go to help local, often vulnerable, children and families, and we support the UK’s biggest baby bank.
