It's a shame that some Vespa restorers ignore the bearing tracks altogether and leave them in place, just masking these items off prior to spraying. Having gone to the trouble of removing the forks, this seems like a false economy as any chips or brinelling on the track ball bearing run way will invariably result in lumpy movement and, thus, poor steering on rebuilding.
