Dreamy hare wins GDT nature photo contest

The German Society for Nature Photography (GDT) has named Peter Lindel as its Nature Photographer of the Year with his photo of a European hare. Peter camein a field of 307 GDT members from 11 countries and over 5,000 entries. For the first time ever this year, voting was completed by GDT members online, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. “Peter spent a lot of time and blood, sweat, and tears working on this project on his doorstep,” says the GDT. “In these times, as everyone is urged to stay home, the generally classic subject of a hare gains special significance.” The image is also a beautiful statement for the long-term photographic exploration of a single species and region.
