AT the start of the year, as part of our regular assessment of the possible risks to the charity, we placed infectious disease at the top. But little could we have predicted that it wouldn’t be a potential outbreak of equine flu or strangles that would have pitched us into one of the most challenging periods in our history, but a human pandemic.
