Ride by Wire

The first production motorcycle to come equipped with ride-bywire throttle control was the 2006 Yamaha YZF-R6. Ride-by-wire is the laymen’s term for electronic throttle management, and many modern bikes now utilize this technology. Before that R6, throttle management was controlled solely by the rider.
