Walking in Gianni Versace’s shows always made you feel exhilarated. Adrenaline was pumping around your body, probably because of the combination of magical lighting, excellent music and the group of incredible girls on the runway. I wore this leather harness dress at the Versace show in 1992. It was so different to all the designs I had worn before. I remember having fittings with Gianni and Donatella before the show. You would stand on a pedestal in the middle of a room and Gianni’s team of seamstresses would be all around you, fixing and pinning the dress. It sometimes took hours, and even though it wasn’t easy to stand still for that long, I now realise the value of this moment, as we were making fashion history.
