Welcome!
Like many of you, I’m sure, I’ve been watching quite a bit of telly. I’ve binged on some great series, watched some new films and also given some old favourites a. I can still remember going to see the iconic Aussie film with my friend, Mary, in 1986. Even though I’ve probably seen it three or four times since, I hit play and did it all over again. Some might think it’s a bit boring to watch something over and over again, but I reckon if you just know that movie or show is going to give you a laugh, or a cry and just leave you feeling good, then I say why the hell not! One hour and 44 minutes later, when the clock had ticked over into Saturday, I took myself off to bed with a smile on my face. My love for that film is just one of the reasons why I adored reading our story (Page 6) about the fabulous Todd Bairstow, a quintessential Aussie bloke from WA who wrestled with a deadly crocodile for a full, terrifying, 25 minutes before his mate, Kev, came to the rescue, pulling him to safety. I’d already listened to Todd tell his story on our brilliant podcast series, , so I knew what happened. But I was still enthralled by his tale of courage and resilience, and also by his fabulous, laid-back Aussie sense of humour. In these difficult times, especially, I reckon that’s something worth savouring.
