Bill Withers

Walsh has led the tributes to Bill Withers following the soul singer and musician’s death from heart complications. Withers was a and were all smashes in the United States between 1971 and 1980 – the West Virginian struggled with the attention that accompanied his success. He also had an intense dislike of being on the road. In the end he declined all offers of a new record contract during the mid-80s, effectively ending his career as a performer.
