Squidgy banana cake with caramel cream cheese frosting

A delicious way to use up any overripe bananas.

SERVES 10 PREP 15 MINS COOK 50 MINS

175g butter, at room temperature
175g dark muscovado sugar, light brown sugar or caster sugar
3 eggs
1tsp vanilla extract
250g self-raising flour
275g peeled, overripe bananas, mashed
100g pecan nuts, chopped, plus extra pecan halves, to decorate
