Developer Media Molecule Publisher SCE Format Vita Release 2013

We’ve said it before, and it bears repeating: you’ll struggle to find a game that so snugly. actively embraces Vita’s curious quirks, making a virtue of its broad feature set rather than being daunted by it. Take that rear touch panel: on the (reverse) face of it, this was little more than a gimmick, one most developers ignored, with others grudgingly including it as an alternative control option. Media Molecule makes it essential, letting you poke your fingers into its world to ‘play’ bouncy drum platforms and squash scrappy little enemies. Its camera, meanwhile, allows us to see ourselves within the game, peering down into this beautiful papercraft realm. By so frequently breaking the fourth wall, it gives protagonists Iota and Atoi a direct link to our world, and fosters a deeper bond with them in return.
