STIRLING MOSS A LEGEND IN THE TRUEST SENSE AND A LIFE WELL LIVED
There was a certain synchronicity that Sir Stirling Moss OBE passed away peacefully over the Easter weekend, for his life so very nearly ended on the same weekend 58 years earlier.
The 1962 accident ended his glittering career at the top of motorsport but, after a lengthy recovery, he went on to live a remarkable life for more than half a century. Many of his contemporaries were less fortunate.
Across the years after his life-changing accident at Goodwood, and even in his later years when he sometimes made use of a wheelchair, Moss drew a huge crowd whenever he appeared in public. His was a fame and popularity that never dwindled or diminished for this was a man who encapsulated skill, bravery, sportsmanship and good humour in equal part and he was revered, loved and admired by millions. We will really never see his like again.
