Rest assured, there’s a lot of funky, percussive goodness that we’re going to cover in this month’s article! Continuing on from last month’s lesson on the benefits of open-string double-stops and dead notes, we’re going to take a look at a number of techniques that will add something of a percussive charm to your playing. These include plucking, 16th notes, dead notes, slides, muting and double-stops. Remember, it’s not just about the notes that you play, it’s also about how you play them.
