I was a devoted finger shooter for 30 years. Even as release aids became standard issue I saw few advantages and several inherent disadvantages. But there soon came a time when clinging to fingers began to make little sense, because there just aren’t a lot of finger-friendly compound bows available today — at least not if performance means anything to you. For the past seven years I’ve shot all compounds with a release.
