    Toy photographers are master illusionists; they can allow us to suspend disbelief by making their subjects seem alive, fooling the viewer into thinking they’re not looking at a pint-sized plaything at all.

    This niche genre of photography is becoming increasingly popular. Manufacturers are making more realistic figures than ever, and social media has provided toy photographers with a platform to reach the masses. Two of the biggest names, Mitchel Wu (@mitchelwuphotography) and Johnny Wu (@sgtbananas) – no relation! – have a combined following of over 130,000 on Instagram alone.
