Eating breakfast, I stared out of the hotel dining room window at the rain and contemplated my day. The forecast was dry for the north coast and Anglesey so I headed that way. The rain made the dark slate of the hillsides almost black and the road to Bethgelert was twisty, so a pity it was so wet. Still, the scenery, with deep wooded valleys and steep hills, was both breathtaking and spectacular.
