Bobby shines bright for Barton – just in time

Bury Farm 148cm Premier, Bucks

THE old adage “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try and try again” rang true for two friends, who saw their dreams come true at this show. Jake Barton and Par Thurston had travelled far and wide in their quest for a precious ticket to the JC final at this year’s Royal International (RIHS), and it all came right for them over the weekend.

This was the final 148cm pony premier show of the season and Keith Bristow’s clever courses received praise from trainers and parents. The fences weren’t over-big, but every course asked enough technical questions and required good riding.
