F1 2020’s most intriguing team-mate battle

In the congested Formula 1 midfield, no team can afford to have its drivers throw away points. This means no underperforming in qualifying, no needless race-offs, and absolutely no intra-squad clashes on-track.

Renault heads into the 2020 F1 season with a target to “fight for P4” in the constructors’ championship, per team principal Cyril Abiteboul at its launch event in Paris last month. It will be attempting to get there thanks to a rejigged driver line-up, with Esteban Ocon replacing Nico Hulkenberg alongside Daniel Ricciardo, creating possibly the spiciest line-up on the grid.
