POACHED PEARS AND RHUBARB IN MEAD WITH SAFFRON AND CARDAMOM
Perfect for a dinner party, simply poach ahead of time and warm the pears slightly before serving.
SERVES 6
✣ 450ml (¾ pint) mead or similar sweet white wine
✣ 75g (2½oz) caster sugar
✣ Juice of 1 lemon
