A few years ago, in 1965, you may remember the release of the Frank Sinatra blockbuster; Von Ryan’s Express? If you haven’t seen it, you MUST. A terrific WW2 tale about a railway train, packed with Allied POWs, making its way up through Italy en route to a Stalag in Germany. The prisoners, under the fractious leadership of Sinatra and curmudgeonly Trevor Howard, jump the German guards, hijack the train and just north of Milan, re-direct it on to an ‘abandoned’ line heading for the safety
