n the early days of interchangeable-lens digital cameras, 35mm-sized “full-frame” sensors were the holy grail. The reason for this at the time made sense: leading camera makers had extensive lineups of lenses designed for 35mm. Lenses for smaller-sensor cameras had to be developed, which meant fewer options compared to the decades’ worth of 35mm optics
