    Udai Bilas Palace, Dungarpur

    Down a winding lakeside drive, Udai Bilas Palace rises out of a secret setting. An authentic family home, the palace is also a heritage hotel close to the Gujarat border of south Rajasthan. Opened in 1993 by Harshvardhan Singh, the son of the current Maharaja of Dungarpur, Udai Bilas is the residence of the elder branch of the Sisodia family century chief of Mewar. Today, Udai Bilas Palace exudes a genuine royal charm with the atmosphere of a grand house party. The current family is often on hand to share detailed tales of history and legend.
