The western Indian state of Gujarat is known to be the home of many historical sites, colourful festivals, and grand palaces draped in legends. As if this list wasn’t long enough, the region has another surprise up its sleeve—one that’s sure to delight both, young and old. Deep in the arid desert-like landscape of Mahisagar district, about 90 kilometres from Ahmedabad, lies the town of Balasinor. Here, a tiny village called Raiyoli holds within it secrets locked in sand. It is in this nondescript part of Gujarat that some unique fossilised remains of dinosaurs
