When it comes to celebrating Christmas and New Year, you can say that my wife Karen and I are very atypical in insisting that it be only us and our two sons during this most magical time of the year. We see our wider family two weeks or so into December; but after that we’re off to an overseas destination, just to get that sense that we’re truly getting away from it all.
