FACADE COMMISSION: WANGECHI MUTU

METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART, NEW YORK 9 SEPTEMBER TO 12 JANUARY 2020

The Met will be showcasing an installation on its historic Fifth Avenue facade for the first time: created by Kenyan-American artist Wangechi Mutu specially for the site. The works, crafted from bronze and organic materials, and depicting modern and classical mythological figures, kick off this new commission, which will see one artist transform the museum’s exterior each year.
