VNLIKE SOME OF HIS PEERS, Jaime Hayón did not grow up in a family of designers. His father was a jeweller and his mother worked in the restaurant business. “My parents still don’t really understand what I’m doing,” shares the Spanish designer candidly. “My mother would go to an installation in which you have so many rooms and she’ll be like, ‘Where did you get that idea from?’ She’ll get really lost.”
