here I was, stuck and uncomfortable, talking to some women at a house party. I wished for some way out; some way to gently disappear so I didn’t have to make small talk (at which I’m somewhat awkward). I excused myself to pour another drink – the only way I knew to escape for a moment – but then there was no where else to go but back to the forced conversation peppered with awkward gaps of
