Digitizing archives offers a powerful means of expanding access to underutilized heritage materials. But many smaller memory institutions lack the technical expertise and financial resources needed to provide online access to their holdings, even where the capacity exists for initial digital conversion. In response, over the past two years, the Digitized Okanagan History (DOH) project (/) has built a collaborative partnership between local heritage organizations and The University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus (UBCO) to create a regional digitization program.
