Spiced Apricot Scones

Makes 10

2 cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground allspice
4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
½ cup chopped dried apricots
¾ cup plus 1 tablespoon cold heavy whipping cream, divided
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

• Preheat oven to 350°.

• Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

• In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and allspice, whisking well. Using a pastry blender, cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add apricots, stirring to blend.
