    States Order Businesses To Close, Virginia Ends School Year As Virus Spreads

    Virginia closes schools the rest of the year. Maryland orders nonessential businesses closed at 5 p.m. Monday. Massachusetts order goes into effect at noon Tuesday and will last at least two weeks.

    Gov. Ralph Northam announced on Monday that schools in Virginia will be closed for the foreseeable future as a result of the spread of the coronavirus.
