A Reality Check 11 Years after the Last Crash

This week marks 11 years since the bottom of the market on March 9, 2009. The timing of last week's extreme market volatility was perfect for us to reflect on where we were, where we are, and where we will likely be heading.
Prior to the great recession and subsequent market crash in 2008 the Dow Jones Industrial Average had reached a peak of 14,164 on Oct 9, 2007. By the time the market reversed course on March, 9 2009, the Dow had fallen all the way down to 6,547.
