A brief history of the Albion Chieftain

The Chieftain was introduced by Albion at the Earls Court Motor Show in the autumn of 1948. The new 5-6-ton forward control lorry retained the trademark Albion radiator along with an all-metal cab and hinged-sided body. Special features included an adjustable steering column, and head lamps recessed into the front wings. Power was provided by an Albion four-cylinder 29-85 bhp direct-injection oil engine, with automatic variable-injection timing gear and a special butterfly
