AIMING FOR TOKYO

As the 2019 competition season draws to a close, Tokyo 2020 draws nearer. Aaron Heading secured a team GB quota place for the Olympics when he won silver at the European Championships in Lonato, Italy, in a gripping final where he missed gold by two targets. Croatia’s Jiri Liptak took first place, with Aaron second and Italy’s Mauro De Filippis third, both securing quota places.

Aaron’s success meant that there were now four quota places secured by Team GB athletes – fellow GB shooters Seonaid McIntosh, Kirsty Barr and Matt Coward-Holley. Winning a quota place doesn’t guarantee
