PELLET PREP

Do you pamper your projectiles? Unless you’re a committed target shooter, the answer is probably “No”.

And I know a fair few high-level paper-punchers for whom pellet prep amounts to no more than checking the head size on the bottom of their latest tin is the same as it was on the last.

But there must be something in it, mustn’t there, otherwise why would people do it? And if it really does have an effect, is it only target shooters who can benefit? Maybe the rest of us could reap the rewards too? And maybe you don’t have to be shooting an ultra high-end rifle to notice any difference.

A few years ago I was a bit of a zealot when it came to pellet prep, as I genuinely believed it did improve my shooting. But time marches on, and I believe the guns and ammo that are being made available to us today are better than ever. Maybe
