SOWETO UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
many people seem to become more sceptical about visiting a township, they seem to have this theory that these places are just not safe. Soweto, South-West of Johannesburg in South Africa has become one place that has attracted millions of tourists. It has a vibe of humanity in all its facets and yes, today Soweto has become one of the places where most people believe that it has a high level density of crime. Taking a two-day tour visit around this place sure will be worth the excitement that was building up inside me. I, too wanted to see what people saw, I wanted to touch what people touched, I wanted to experience what people experienced. Organising a tour driver from Sandton, located in the municipality of Johannesburg is where I was picked up from my Saxon hotel.
June 16 is an important day on the Johannesburg calendar that captivate the lives of South African people. It commemorates the day of the student uprising. On that day, you will even find some old people wearing school uniforms in commemoration of the event.
