POOR PADDY

This is part one of a one-part series I’m going to call “False Crimes”— as opposed to true crimes. Fictional tales of trapline intrigue. Sort of like an untrue detective novel.

It starts with Paddy O’Trapper. Poor Paddy had slogged back 100 yards into a beaver swamp, just to trap beavers. The beaver weren’t worth anything, but poor Paddy was poor. On his way to trap those beavers, Paddy came across a raccoon trail in the middle of the swamp.
