THE HUMBLE BEETROOT

Beetroot (Beta vulgaris) is a root vegetable (which means it simply grows underground), is also known as a garden beet, or just plain beet. They used to be commonly found in Uncles hamburgers and were responsible for most of the purple stains on white t-shirts back in the day… perhaps that is why they seem to have faded from the modern-day hamburger!
