BLEEDING GUMS
Due to pregnancy hormones the mucous membranes of the mouth (gums) become engorged and soft and will bleed very easily. It is normal for food to become easily trapped, and because of this you may be at more risk of developing gingivitis, an inflammation of the gums that may weaken the supports of the teeth.
What helps?
✓ Brush your teeth after every meal. Use a softer toothbrush, and floss frequently.
✓ Visit an oral hygienist at least twice during your pregnancy.
