FAITHFUL AND WILD
Louise Kerr explores the importance of dogs both in our domestic life and in the wider environment.
Wild dogs have roamed the Blue Mountains area for thousands of years with recent sightings of Dingoes on the rise.
Domesticated dogs have been our companions, guardians and even co-workers for thousands of years.
This work (above) is titled Dog God (2018). Like many of Louise's works, it is a soft sculpture, hand sewn using the coiling technique. It has been painted and some hair is applied.
The show opens on Friday November 30th, 6-8pm at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre Art Gallery, Katoomba. Dates: 30th Nov 2018 to 13th Jan 2019
