The Cool Climate Wine region of NSW starts at the Blue Mountains and continues throughout the Central West region. It is the high altitude and alluvial soils which create perfect conditions for growing grapes, apple orchards and making wines and ciders. With parts of the Orange region reaching heights of 700m and Mudgee 600m, it is this unique climate that allows the vines to slowly awake from their dormant state in Winter, budburst in Spring and then maturing for a late harvest when fully ripe in Autumn.

There are plenty of Vineyards to visit across the region with Wine varieties to taste including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Rose and Sauvignon Blanc.

Wine Tours are a great option to explore the Cellar Doors and create your own adventure. Local Winemakers can educate you as you discover their premium wines and look behind the scenes at the Winemaking process.
